Is there a role for testosterone therapy in postmenopausal women?

This study showed testosterone supplementation did have a modestly greater effect than placebo on libido but it did not come without risk. The authors point out that additional data are needed to assess the long-term safety of testosterone use in women with oestrogen depletion. If oestrogen replacement presents problems in practice then testosterone supplementation therapy seems to present more.
